"Dutraive is one of the great old school producers of Fleurie and Beaujolais as a whole. These wines are decidedly earthy and almost always driven by notes of mushrooms, truffles and earth. This particular wine is a unicorn of sorts, made in just this one vintage from a single parcel in Fleurie that Jean Louis had the opportunity to purchase fruit from, just once. While classically Dutraive, this example airs on the side of decisively natural. Think tart cherries, cranberries, fresh mushrooms, and a distinct salinity. This is a one-off gem from the treasure trove of Dutraive and once it's gone, it won't be coming back."
