"Ancona’s partnership with Donnhoff began in the 2017 vintage with the introduction of 2017 Donnhoff Estate Trocken Riesling 'Ancona’s Edition'. The wine evaporated over the course of last summer so we decided we had to repeat the project. But we’re doing something a little different. 2018 is the first vintage in a very long time that has yeilded Nahe a reasonably sized Weisserburgunder harvest. Weisserburgunder of course=German Pinot Blanc. Cornelius has always produced exceptional Weisserburgunder. Perhaps the single best in Germany. So when the window of opportunity arose for an 'Ancona’s Edition' Weisserburgunder, we just couldn’t pass. Donnhoff Weisserburgunder usually hard to get your hands on. And the price is generally much higher than what you see here! The wine is always exceptionally mineral-driven, and thirst quenching. Our importer friend Gabe, calls it the 'anti-rose'... and I can’t think of a better summer white. This wine is like a cloud: floating across the palate with whispers of green apple, light citrus, crushed stone, and wild flowers. Drink with anything from citrus-grilled chicken to oysters, cod, and rockfish. Drink up over the next five years."
