"Our latest addition from Kermit Lynch, Chateau la Grave is an archetype example of AOC Cahors. If you’re new to Cahors, this appellation in the mountainous Southwest specializes in Malbec. While it's not uncommon to blend in small percentages of Merlot and/or Tannat, this example is 100% pure. Please, forget everything you know about Argentine Malbec. I love this wine for its rustic but layered fruit, mild grit, deep earthiness and satisfying simplicity. It would be a flawless accompaniment for a good burger, beef stew, or game birds. Although firing on all cylinders now, it also manifests the aptitude for intermediate cellaring and will reward the patient drinker especially over the next 4-6 years."
