"Barbera by the liter from the neighborhood of Monferrato which Barbera is the local staple for winemaking. The Ariotti family has farmed and made wine here for many generations and represent a key pillar in the Barbera producing community. The wine is pretty classic in every way--quite simply, this is killer Barbera. The wine was fermented and aged in concrete using indigenous yeast and the final product is on the lighter side--driven by crunchy red fruit, dry dusty earth, mushrooms, truffle and herbs. There is a fine layer tannin here and bright acid which equips it well to pair with pizza and pasta and other simple red sauce preparations that demand authentic Italian red."
