"This is special for so many reasons. First and foremost--although you wouldn’t know by looking at the label--it is made by Maggie Hairrison of Antica Terra. Maggie is a living legend. She cut her teeth at Sine Qua Non under the great Manfred Krankl, and in 1989 established her own winery in Oregon under the name Antica Terra. "Antica Terra" means "Old Earth" in Latin. Over the course of my career, I’ve slowly watched the wines of Antica Terra migrate from scarce to rare and hard to find. Coriolis is effectively a secret, declassified label of Antica Terra to benefit various charitable causes per Maggie. 100% of the profits from the sale of this wine are donated to charity by Maggie Hairrison. The wine itself is pristine, polished, and lithe. Lots of fruit but also lots of mineral. Faint whispers of wood."
