Happy Thanksgiving!
Ok, not yet, but it's just around the corner!
If you're feeling any pressure about what you'll be pouring this Thursday, don't fret: we've got you covered!
Here are our picks to go with everything on your table.
- You can never go wrong with bubbly, which makes both a lovely aperitif and a beautiful pairing with the bird and rich sides alike. Sparklers are great for keeping things light- the bubbles and acidity help cut rich flavors and keep your palate refreshed.
Domaine Bruno Dangin Blanc De Noirs
Les Parcelles Tete Nat Igny Rose 2017
A. Margaine "Cuvee Le Brut" Brut NV
- For white wines, much like bubbles, acidity and freshness are key with the decadence of a meal like Thanksgiving dinner. We've got the spread covered here; something delicate and fresh, like the Donnhoff Ancona's Edition Weisserburgunder, crowd-pleasers like classically styled white Burgundy, and something a bit outside the norm, with incredible depth and complexity, like the Cameron Ramato.
Donnhoff Weisserburgunder Trocken Ancona's Edition
Kuentz- Bas Alsace Blanc 2018
Von Winning Riesling Trocken 2017
Domaine Jerome Chezeaux Bourgogne Blanc 2017
Patton Valley Vineyard Nutmeg State Cuvee Chardonnay
Cameron Giuliano Pinot Blanc 2018
Cameron Ramato Pinot Gris 2018
- Of course, there are plenty of red wines to pair with your holiday feast. We recommend steering clear of reds with higher tannins, as they can easily overpower the flightless star of the meal. We tend to stick with brighter, lighter reds like Pinot Noir and Beaujolais' Gamay for their tart cherry and cranberry notes.
Now, sometimes a little tannin can go a long way. Cabernet Franc, especially of the Loire variety like Chateau d'Epire Anjou Rouge, carries great fresh fruit and earthy, fine-grained tannin that won't steal the show.
If you're in the mood for a red with a little more oomph, medium-plus bodied Rhone style blends like Peterson's Californian, or his full-bodied Old School Zin can fit the bill.
Deux Moulins Pinot Noir 2017
Domaine De La Chamois Terres Blondes Gamay 2018
Eric Chevalier Piece De L'oree Pinot Noir 2018
Soter Planet Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017
Patton Valley Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017
Chateau D'epire Anjou Rouge 2018
Bruno Colin Bourgogne Rouge 2016
Pierre Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017
Cameron Clos Electrique Rouge 2017
Yann Bertrand Pur Oh!ringine Beaujolais Rouge 2018
